Check Yourself Up - A Poem

Ignore not your BP, if your parents had a high measure,

 If be it so, it’s high time, for you to consider more leisure.

Unfortunately, if you’re in the “Blood Pressure” club,

Don’t forget your drug along with your grub.

Lipids are often a deceptive lot;

Be careful, in that net, you too may be caught.

To boost up your lipids, these luscious dinners are served,

Be frugal in your needs or end up with the statins, you’ve heard.

Your may be a “sweet” little guy, so be discreet.

Still be sweet and nice to all those you meet.

But always keep a tag on what you eat;

And keep your blood sugar normal and neat.

Exercise, you must, and is best advised;

To all others, (but me) by the so-called “wise.”

Walk a mile a day or have a swim in the water

To keep your heart shapely, sturdy, and better

That heavenly puff of pluming smoke

Is a red carpet welcome to a definite stroke.

Wish it away, or throw it away;

Can’t do it?  Then, sorry, bide your day!

Be free with your advice to each of your friend,

For they will be there always to attend

But, remember, alas, no good is power or pelf

If you don’t go and get a check up yourself!!!!
