Studied MBBS at Calicut Medical College, India and MD in General Medicine from the same college in 1979. Received 11 Gold medals for various subjects in MBBS during the course and was first in the Calicut University for MBBS.
Acquired a Post Doctoral degree - DM in Cardiology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research at Chandigarh, India in 1981 Worked in the capacity of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor of Cardiology in the Medical College Calicut till 1992. Went abroad to Dubai for a five year stint as Senior Consultant Cardiologist and returned in 1997. Left the Medical College service to join the Baby Memorial Hospital, a Multispecialty hospital at Calicut in 1997. Promoted as Chief of Medical Services in the hospital in 2013. Continued to be a consultant in Cardiology. Retired from the posts in Baby Memorial Hospital, Calicut, India in 2022 and settled in the United States of America. Engaged now full time as an author publishing books - Both Fiction and Non-Fiction. Have published over 40 Academic papers in various National and International Journals on Cardiology topics. Written chapters in various textbooks on Cardiology-related topics. Interested in Teaching and Giving Lectures. Published a small booklet on "Understanding the Electrocardiogram" for the help of junior doctors and doctors with MBBS. Has published Three courses in Udemy on Electrocardiography. Also interested in Painting, Poetry writing, Writing articles (non medical) etc. Likes to have friends.
Dr. K. V. Sahasranam is the author of Thirteen books, both Fiction and Non Fiction, previously on various subjects like Short stories for children, an Autobiographical fiction, a book on ‘Understanding the Electrocardiogram’ and two books on ‘Health Problems in Old Age’. His first book on ‘Understanding Hinduism series’ is named “Demystifying Hinduism and the second one “The Avadhoota”. In the book “Daily Musings” he has given inspirational messages for daily living derived from the scriptures and Hindu Mythology.
His two books on ‘Skillsets for Success’ were named “How to Master Essential Life Skills” and “How to Achieve Professional Excellence”. In these books he has described skills needed to be successful in life from the point of view of a Medical Director. His latest Suspense Thriller is “Truth Lies Out There” His latest novel is a Hospital based Medical thriller named "Code Black". He writes under the pen name 'Sahasranam Kalpathy'
He is a now settled in the U.S leading a retired life.
