Take This Piece of Advice . . . - Poem

If your mom or dad has hypertension

Give your BP more attention,

If you happen to be in the “BP” club,

Don’t forget your drug along with you morning grub.

Lipids are often a deceptive lot

In that net, be careful not to be caught.

To boost up you lipids, these luscious dinners are served,

Be frugal in your needs, or swallow the statins you’ve heard.

“Sweet” you may be, but be discreet,

Be sweet and nice to all those you meet.

Always keep a tag on what you eat

To keep you blood sugar normal and neat.

Exercise, you must, and is best advised

To all others, (but me) by the so-called “wise”.

Walk a mile a day or have a swim in the water

To keep your heart shapely, sturdy and better.

That heavenly puff of pluming smoke

Is a red carpet welcome to a definite stroke

Wish it away, or, throw it away

Can’t do it? Then, sorry, bide your day!

Be free with your advice to each of your friend

For they will be there always to attend

But, remember, alas, no good is power of pelf

If you don’t go and get a check up yourself!
